Wow, pleasant surprise! I'm usually not a friend of doughnut bokeh, but in this shot I think the shaped highlights really add to the photo.

Beautiful pictures, unfortunately ugly bokeh kill them, except horse picture.

I love Russian mirrors but only that way if subject fill full frame.

I love that squirrel, and the one after it. I do like the donunt bokeh, it's not the usual, and can be used well, like you do.

Gotta love those Russian mirrors. They are such good lenses.

Maybe I'm weird, but I don't mind the donut bokeh a bit. I think they often set a photo off from an otherwise ordinary crowd.

Very good and the blur is nice. I love the fox most, make me think about one of those Russian mirror lenses on a full frame Cool

Fine wildlife shots. I too find the donuts a bit distracting

Nice work. Are you using a focusing screen to focus these lenses?

PostPosted: Thu Nov 19, 2009 9:16 am    Post subject: Reply with quote

I am using standart Canon 40D focusing screen but in bad light it`s very difficult to focus..

I love your pictures !

I am very surprised with the squirrel ! HOW did you succeed doing such a photograph with a Mirror Smile

did you use a flash ?

I'm curious of the range of those 500mm lenses... can you tell at how many meters were you from the fox picture ? thanx.

Nelson - In these pictures i did not use flash, i used it only one time for birds photography from very close distance 5-7 meters. It works great!
Focusin for this lens is very smooth, and that allows shoot moving objects (using monopod)

Hexi - I was hiding on the field, and fox were 30-40 meters from me.
On crop cameras focus distance for 500mm lens is 800mm.

I am impressed by the sharpness of these.. The weird bokeh is a little much in some of the shots but overall I like them.

Nice shootin.
