After reading KhanX post about his friend's lens modification, it inspired and spurred me on to experiment around the idea. What I have was the "chassis" of the broken Pentacon MC 50mm and Summarit 50mm f1.5 front groups (it was missing the focusing helicoid, aperture blades and rear elements groups). What I did was, simply screwing in the Summarit "head" with bit of plumber tape into a M42 extension tubeand screw into the helicoid of the Pentacon MC 50mm "chassis". With the front most group, the magnification is very large and thus hard to control. I remove that group of glasses and it works better !

Without the front groups

Using the aperture blade of the Pentacon "chassis"

I am constantly amazed at what people on this lens will cobble together. The results aren't bad
