I got both lenses last week, but unfortunately I could not get them back into a working shape.

It looks as if the lenses are not really adequately engineered. It's interesting to note that both of these lenses have a diaphragm that's operated by a miniature "brake cable". This solution still works, but the diaphragm ring seems to be operated with at least one ball bearing (for the click stops) which is spring-tensioned. In both of the lenses, the little spring is damaged. I tried to reseat the ball bearings without using the springs and this works, but when I screw the M42 mount part back to both lenses the diaphragm ring gets stuck.

Have I missed something somewhere? I noted that there is at least one more spring (for the A/M switch) although I didn't find the ball bearing in both cases.

Any ideas from more experienced repairmen? Wink

Unfortunately I have no expertise on them, so I cannot be of any help...

Anyway, good luck!

Jes.
