OK, so the seller must be a salesman for washing powder... and the Exa was a marketing joke...
Cheers

Yes, and I guess it is "just" a Biotar
Hope to get it before Christmas.

But in fact it reached high price if you consider nothing is said and guaranteed about it. Around 400 EUR there are clean and healthy samples offered. _________________ P a n c o l a r t . P h o t o . G a l l e r y http://juredolzan.deviantart.com |

Congratulations Klaus!
While we are at it: do you also own the pre-war 7,5cm f/1.9 Primoplan? _________________ "Old Takumars never die; they just fade away"

Seller told that everything is in very nice condition.
And I'm always curious about this old and early Kine lenses. Want to have them, compare and if it is like mine, it will go again.
You know, collectors are kind of idiots, but they own the nicest lenses

Hi Attila,
here some quickn dirty shots for you... the lens did arrive yesterday after servicing at Fotoservice Olbrich Görlitz..
First of all, i agree, this lens is like a stradivari... you did post this in another thread. But the owner, like me, has to learn to play this instrument.
The first one isnt very sharp, taken as all following images at 1.5..
Focus is on the middle silver center of the candleholder.. The Biotar is wide open only sharp in the center..
For this picture i give a LINK to the high resolution sample of the image, where you can see very beautiful "catseyes" in the highlights like pearls on a pearl necklace...
OPEN THIS IN A NEW BROWSER TAB !!
(click twice in the image to enlarge and see the image in highest res.. walk around.. and see the nice effects)
http://dunkelnetz.de/images/objektivtests/czj_biotar_1.5_75/stradivari_biotar_gr.JPG
Here are some fast portrait shots after receiving the lens..
This Biotar is going to be one of my favourite lenses for portraits in terms of Bokeh, softness with enough sharpness for details.
Its a special kind of a subtil and surrealistic painting possibility....
Cheers

Portraits, portraits just wonderful... perfect much with your beautiful wife.
I agree Biotar 75mm not an easy lens need to learn how to handle a true masterpiece. I like first candle pictures too even if not sharp. I had six copies all were superb performer currently I have four, I try to keep all. _________________

| Nice work. Henry, go for a good lens hood. Try to set focus carefully. |

Thanks @all,
are there any suggestions about a perfect hood for that lens, used on a Fullframe EOS 5D?
Dont want to have vignetting with a hood for 85mm focal lenght and a hood for a 55m focal length would probably not so effective..
Thanks for some hints.
Cheers
