All photos shot in AV or aperture priority mode from the same distance using a tripod and shooting with mirror lock up and timer. All were shot at ISO 400 with in-camera settings of my K10D set at saturation =0, Sharpness =+2, Contrast=+1.

F/2.8, 1/500 sec.




F/4, 1/180 sec.




F/5.6, 1/90 sec.




F/8, 1/60 sec.




F/11, 1/45 sec.




F/16, 1/30 sec.

Looks to me like f5.6 to f8 is the sweet spot.
Thanks for posting the test , I have this lens in a Canon mount with a serial number that starts with 28. Looks like a keeper!

Thanks Tim. I believe you are right on that sweet spot but it does pretty well through out the range.
