Do you mean the S-M-C Macro? Sharp, good bokeh, average OOF lights.

M42 Asahi Opt. Co., Super-Multi-Coated Macro-Takumar 100/4

Flat-field, high resolution and contrast, excellent accurate color rendition, all make for superb IQ. High contrast makes sun-lit subject REALLY stand out against shade background rendered nearly black. Very high resolution even on bellows at maximum extension. Excellent at infinity as well as intermediate distances. All that, even wide open. Relatively compact; precision all-metal build. One of my most favorite lenses!

But don't take my word alone! There are many many fine examples online produced with this lens.

I think I posted some samples from this lens on here somewhere, look under 'Tulips' in the gallery under my name. Its a great lens and capable of superb results, both as a short telephoto and macro, I think there are a few others with the same lens here?

One of my first 'proper' lenses when I developed this illness last October - and one that will have to be forced from my cold dead hands Laughing

Seriously though, it's a very lovely lens which has never disappointed me Wink

Hasn't Laurence been putting this one through its paces attached to the SD14?
