I think that 800 x 480 resolution is quite unambitious bearing in mind that some mobile phones can decode 720p video. This device could be handy if you are using a tripod for the functions like the histograms but would not compare to a reasonably sized viewfinder.

For photography it could be used as a waist level finder, otherwise the Canon 60D has the 640 x 480 swivel screen which with a more appropriate aspect ratio has effectively the same resolution. A similar device for EVIL cameras could be effective as the whole set up would be pocketable.

If it is possible for data to be sent through the hotshoe then it would make the cable redundant. I suspect that this screen will be expensive.

Given that the 3" screen on the 5D MKII is over 900K pixels...it's not much better if it is at all. A screen with the same pixel density as the iPhone 4 and 5" would be awesome.
