A 105mm lens for $5 ? I hope this is made by a good japanese third party maker, I heard Sears are not bad at all. Any opinion ?

Sears? You never can tell...
Sears was in the States what Porst or Revuenon was in Germany.
Sometimes excellent lenses (e.g. manufactured by Tomioka), sometimes cheap plastic.

Yes, I saw many identical with Vivitars.

Let we see how to perform as portrait lens, I believe for human portraits don't need to use the sharpest lens.
