A got this tip from an E-bay seller on how to quickly and reversibly arrest the automatic F-stop function on the Helios.
Most of you guys know this already, but since I took a few pics during the process I se no harm in posting them.
Open the 4 screws and take off the back part
Remove the pin from the back part. It's moves freely in the hole.
Cut off a piece of cable insulation and put it on the pin. The lenght has to be adjusted so the pin is levelled with the rear surface when everything is mounted. If the insulation is cut too long the pin might deform the lever it's acting on, so keep it as short as possible. 3 mm is an approximate lenght . I didn't really measure it.
Put everyting together again. Be careful to turn the back part correctly so the pin sits right on the lever. _________________ DSLR: Nikon D200, Pentax *istDL, Nikon D100 IR converted
