Here are some examples at f/8 with the front-cell set to 1m. There is some vignetting due to a hand-held lens shade.

The bokeh is in a way both better and worse than at f/4.5. It is better as the bright edge has almost disappeared, but it isn't very Gaussian anymore.

Having the front-cell set at 1m will somewhat soften the result when the lens is focused farther than about 2m. However, I wouldn't call it exactly soft (very minimally sharpened before RAW conversion):
