I have a 50mm with funges between the first and second element on one copy and funges on the back element of another copy
I got the front group out but it seems to be one solid metal piece with the group crimped or moulded in and impossible to seperate
i have tapped it sucked it, friction drived it but it is STUCK
Any experience or advice please
the other lens back group has a plastic retainer ring that can be reached from the back with grooves for a lens spanner but it only rotates 45 degrees and then locks , this is the more recent one with "made in japan" on the front ring _________________ Daniel |

Where can I find informations about that? |
there are 4 editions of this lens and the last 2 with the plastic aperture rings are supposed to be a bit better optically ??? and have made in japan on the front ring
also see Poilu's link
I did a search for "zuiko 50mm disasemble" and got it on a forum but cannot find the site again in my browser history
here is some more info i found
Early Olympus lenses have a letter designation before the word
Zuiko which corresponds to the number of elements in the
lens. Thus, an E.Zuiko has 5 elements, an F.Zuiko 6 elements,
a G.Zuiko 7 elements, and so on. This designation was dropped
sometime in the late 1970's or early 1980's (anyone know exactly
when?) On the other hand, S-Zuiko denotes Olympus' "economy"
line of lenses. Auto-S, Auto-W, and Auto-T stand for standard,
wide, and telephoto lenses respectively, while Auto-Zoom
denotes a zoom lens, and Auto-Macro denotes a macro lens
that must be used with either the bellows or telescoping auto
extension tube. _________________ Daniel

Thanks Poilu .... got it this time from your link
Looks like the lens with the funges is the latest edition , the partly plastic one and the front group is pressed in by the factory ( no retaining ring) and cannot be parted
I will use this lens back element to fix the other one with the funges on the back element _________________ Daniel |
