Is this an Adapt-A-Matic lens?

I got this Tamron 135mm in a box of stuff I bought at a camera show.

The lens is in very good cosmetic condition and the glass is clean but
there are loose parts on the mount area and the diaphragm doesn't
work properly. The mount is Konica.

Is this an Adapt-A-Matic Lens? I was wondering if it was then maybe it's
just the mount that's faulty and I could attach another and use the lens.

Hello,

Definitively, yes, according to http://www.adaptall-2.com/lenses/JSG-28Au.html ...

Do you have any sample picture taken with this lens ?

Cheers

Hiya DOF,

Could be that the adapter is attached incorrectly. The Adaptamatic I just sent to Luis had a Konica adapter on it and it was very finicky to get installed on the lens correctly!

The second image in your post shows a little silver tab at the bottom. That tab should fit into the notch that is facing the camera. Best to remeove the adapter and re-install it. Hopefully it will work then.

Bill

Thanks, guys.

I will try removing and re-mounting it later today. But, I don't have a
Konica body to try it anyway. I guess the best thing is to find another
Adapt-A-Matic mount for a camera body that I have. Apart from the
mount, the lens seems in really nice condition.

Definitely Adaptamatic.

I can attest that the Konica Adaptamatic mount is finicky, as Bill says.

Best option here is to find another Adaptamatic with an M42 mount and you can swap the mount around.

Alternatively, I have heard where one can use an empty 58mm filter ring and an M42 reverse adapter as a mount. I haven't tried this though.

BTW, I see you are among the lucky people that have a Schneider Tele-Xenar 360/5.5. Lovely lens.

Thanks for the info.

Yes, I picked up the big Schneider years ago at a camera show for about
$10. It has a crack at the edge of the front element. But it's still one of
the sharpest teles I've ever used.

I have a Tammy Adapt-A-Matic (Nikon mount) 28mm f/2.8 I'm willing to part with. Glass and barrel are really clean and it has a front slip-on cap. No rear cap.

Here's the "however"... the mechnics for auto stop-down in the mount are non-exsistant... someone removed them... so it's a preset lens now.

If you can use this, drop me a PM or email (moorefoto AT gmail DOT com).

Thanks for offering. I think I'll hold out for a complete mount. I go to
camera shows a lot. I'm sure one will turn up.

Well, I located a new-in-the-box Adapt-A-Matic mount for Nikon on eBay.

Here is a quick hand-held shot with this 135mm lens @ f/4:

I like this lens. I'll try some tripod shots later.
