This is an Exakta mount lens, so used the Exakta 500 and an expired
roll of Kodak HD 200:

scans 2400dpi, Epson 4490

I don't think they make HD film anymore, too bad, love the colors.

Very nice ones Bill! Glad you make good use if it!

Nice shots, I love my copy of this lens, it's an overlooked gem, they only command very low prices on ebay, despite being a great lens.

Klaus, love this lens, great performer! Thanks again for finding this like-new copy, and for your generosity! Smile

Ian, agree, I like the fact that it close-focuses to somewhere between
13-14 inches, and anything beyond 4 meters/12 feet is infinity. Makes
for a great walkaround, and is quite compact, too.

These are stunning, you make film look so easy to use.

It is indeed a brilliant little lens, I love mine to bits, and am looking for a second copy to keep in reserve. They are also quite durable, The copy I have is regularly taken down into abandoned mines, where anything even remotely fragile dies a very fast death (wet slate dust/slush/mud gets into and onto everything without a Teflon surface).

Moira, NewStuff, and Kathmandu, thanks! Recommend this lens, and have
seen it in M42 mount as well.

It's common in M42, there are several on ebay now. I paid 12ukp for mine in well used but optically excellent condition. I like the build quality, all metal and feels very robust.

15-20ukp will secure a good one and at that price it's a must-have imho.

Mine is M42, and was in EXC+ condition, for £20 posted.

Well done Bill, great work with this old camera and Klaus's lens. I agree with all that's been said, plus I love the colours with this film. I don't know if it's available over here. Sad

Ian and NewStuff, agree, this is a must-have lens for the 30 FL.

Peter, thanks for the kind words, the film (I believe) is no longer made
by Kodak. The film was given to me by a friend in Florida. You might find
rolls for sale on ebay, dunno. Very accurate colors!

Thanks, Attila, here are a couple pix of the lens, looks like new:

Mine is older and not in as good condition but it still takes good pics.

I have shot film with it, but only cheap not so great Kodak Color Plus 200 and I underexposed it a stop by accident so the results, while good were not as good as the lens can do.

Beautiful vista, Ian, I like the light caught in the water in the foreground,
too.

Thankyou, it was a truly beautiful moment, spiritual almost, I shot a whole roll of film and loads of digital images of it too.

This is the same time with the same lens but on my EOS 10D, I shot the roll of film first then put the Lydith on my EOS and shot some digital too.

Lovely pano, Ian, if you have more, both film or digital, would love to see
them. This goes for anyone else, too.

Yes, I have a thread full of panos taken with the Meyer lens and some with my Hoya HMC 2.8/28. I use the Meyer a lot, makes a perfect walkaround lens on my EOS.

Those are all with the Meyer.

Love that first pano, amazing!

Thankyou, I was lucky to be in the right place at the right time. Here is the same scene shot on film with the same lens.

very nice panos indeed!

Thankyou Klaus, those were my first attempts, there are some stitching errors but the overall result is good. I have managed to do better ones since, still not found what I consider to be the 'ideal' lens for those panorama shots but I have found some good ones. I have to say, the good old Meyer 3.5/30 stands up very well against my more recently purchased wides such as the Yashica ML 2.8/28 and 2.8/35, Panagor (Kiron) 2/35 and Canon FL 2.5/35. The Meyer was the cheapest of the lot.

A few more Meyer shots, all on a tripod at minimum aperture, some are HDR.

Seriously, what's not to love about this lens? Even if it cost Flektogon money I would still consider it a worthy purchase, but given it's a fraction of the price of a Flek it, to me, is a 'must have' for anyone, even those who also have Zeiss glass.
