I received this lens a couple of days ago and Attila was teasing me because I had no time to test it soon as it was in my hand.

The chance happened last night when I had to shoot some food in my studio.

I used the Planar on my Olympus e410 and this is my overall impressions:

- very sharp with a lot of microcontrast also wide open.
- bokeh is really pleasing but it becomes fuzzier at full aperture.
- colors are on the "cool" side. So while it goes well with portaiture it could be a problem if using Velvia and you have a lot of green. Magenta an Blue are pretty strong.
- there's pretty a lot of CA with backlight, magenta-green one. I didn't expect it honestly as cheaper lenses didn't exhibit this kind of problem in the same situation (and being a studio set I'm pretty sure of the lights placement and power).

Anyway this is one of the final images from the set (full open at 1.4):

Why do I always walk away hungry after reading your posts?

Chestnut gnocchi? Interesting.

Oh and nice lens.
