Shamefully lucky fixing of focus of 5D

Remember that I had problem of not consistency of focus between the AF chip and the viewfinder of my 5D?
Well... after having basically given up trying to find metal shims to use in the viewfinder, I have tried something. Instead of adding, I tried to remove the one shim that was actually there.
And guess what? It worked. The viewfinder now focuses perfectly and in coincidence with the AF chip !

Must be the luckiest focus editing operation in the history of reflex cameras
