http://www.betterscanning.com/ sells custom adapters for most of the scanners (unluckily I don't see the 4850 listed, but the 4870 is, don't know if it's compatible).
Now that I'm shooting film more and more I was also thinking to get some of these products. Especially the ones for wet scanning that gives the film an almost perfect planariety.
