A leica from the 50s!

Not bad at all in my opinion (slight PS, auto contrast and levels)

Not very sharp wide open, but it definitely has a special feel to it.

I don't know the lens quality perhaps you get same result with a cheap Helios too, congrats for your subject selection! Very nice samples!

The summicron was the better 50 mm that i had in all my life. The more constrast and sharpest, with the unsurpassed leica 3D.

In your subject, as Attila said , I don't know if a cheaper lens could do the job too. May be, but all the pics with the summicron have the leica's touch, endeed.

Enjoy this super lens. Have you the LS 50? Uncommon!!

Rino.

It seems to me that no, helios don't do the job as leica or zeiss can do.

Just take one times a Helios and parallel with your most expensive and best quality lenses use them in low light environment and look result I think it will be not recognizable. Especially true if $$ lens is not too sharp.

Thanks all!

This 50 year old summicron is really quite special, it's not as sharp, not as contrast-y as newer leicas but it has such a wonderful feel.

I agree with Attila to some extent though, i've seen shots from Jupiters and Helios M39 mount lenses and they offer wonderful quality for a mere pittance.

But then again, Leica, Voightlander, Jupiter, Helios and Zeiss glass are all wonderful and each offers a special character to it.

Anyway, i shot a 2nd roll of color film (Superia 1600) on the Summicron and i have to say i love it.

Your 2nd roll is so good. I like the way you compose very much.
