In your subject, as Attila said , I don't know if a cheaper lens could do the job too. May be, but all the pics with the summicron have the leica's touch, endeed.

It seems to me that no, helios don't do the job as leica or zeiss can do.

I agree with Attila to some extent though, i've seen shots from Jupiters and Helios M39 mount lenses and they offer wonderful quality for a mere pittance.
But then again, Leica, Voightlander, Jupiter, Helios and Zeiss glass are all wonderful and each offers a special character to it.
Anyway, i shot a 2nd roll of color film (Superia 1600) on the Summicron and i have to say i love it.
