Has anyone had any experience with these monster lenses?
I guess they should be like projection lenses?
Like this one: http://alag3.mfa.kfki.hu/astro/giantlenses/127/Pentacon_Epis_D117mm_F3.6_f420mm_1.jpg

I know they may be to big to handle easily, but I am interested in how they behave optically.

Fine as large format portrait lenses - most are Petzval type. For 35mm, the resolution is lacking, and the expense of building a mount wich safely holds a 2kg lens would be too high.
