Hi,
I am going for a few days from Monday to Morocco in a business trip but I hope I will get some time to take some snaps. I am going to take my 30D with me (of course) but I would like you to tell me which lenses you would take with you.
All the opinions are always welcome!!!
...I am going to take more than one, but the poll does not allow me to give you that choice so a one line reply will do me as well
Thanks for your time,

I put down the 20mm Flek before reading your plans, because I had great fun with the same lens in the souq here in Qatar. I think it is an excellent lens for capturing the hustle and bustle of an Arab town - and, of course, for landscapes, too.
Back it up with one of the zooms (that, purists as we all are, nobody is voting for - but they are extremely useful in real life, especially as you won't want to miss shots it it is to be a once-in-a-lifetime trip) _________________ View or buy my photos at:

Hi Fern poll is set this way that you can choose one lens only.
My tips:
1. Flektogon 4/20
2. Tamron 3.5/70-210
3. Tamron 2.8-3.8/35-80
4. Planar 1.7/50
I choose this way because:
You don't know circumstances and if you will make decision to take 2 lens - additional 2 makes no difference. You can fit them all in one bag including camera and other items. Even if you will use one lens only - choice from 4 is better than from 2. You can make shots any time of the day and for evening for short distance pictures fast 50mm is a must, and this allow you to set ISO lower. _________________ Cheers, Voytek |

If you're taking only 1 lens, then I'd pack a zoom. The 28-105 seems the best choice, but may not be wide enough on a crop. _________________ Casual attendance these days |

When I saw what you wanted to use them for primarily, then the 20mm Flek (for width) & the Planar (for low light) if you wanted to thin out the herd... _________________ Cameras-Nikon D300, D7100,D610,FE2,FTN ,FT2,N90s, Olympus Pen EP-3 & Olympus OM-D E-M10

As usual, choosing the lenses are not easy for this poll.
I went Morocco two years ago, you definitely need a wide angle lens
since the mosques and things are large, and for people shots you have
to be careful not to be obvious of shooting some particular person(s).
In order to avoid a conflict, you should carry a long zoom which
complements your wide lens. And streets inside of old city centre is
dark, so prepare for this too.
The both pics were in FES with CZ Biogon 2.8/25mm with Fuji Reala. _________________ Our Home Page has 18,200 photos in 575 directories today.

Hi,
Many many thanks to everyone for your thoughts. I will try to get with me at least the Flekto 4/20 & Planar 1,7/50 alongside the Tamron SP 3.5/70-210 and, if I can make it too, the Tamron 35-80. I´m flying with Easyjet and you know how they restrict everything.
I will stay for a few days but if I miss something I will have the chances in the next coming months since I have to go back there at least a couple of times.
Thanks to everybody,
