Vincent happened to walk into CUSA headquarters the afternoon the cameras arrived. He talked Canon into loaning him one for the weekend. The whole film was shot in 72 hours. The budget was $5,000, including a $2,000 helicopter ride. Most of it was shot at ISO 1600 and 3200. I thought it turned out pretty well for a guy that hadn't shot a video before.

I bet it will take nice still photos, too. Smile Seriously, what a great tool for newspaper photographers that have to shoot stills and video. And soccer moms can fill their harddrives with HD video.

I like what your saying Geoff.
This camera is a fully useful tool for reportage , Documentary, newsroom, and the list goes on.

I think maybe Vincent is more lucky in his friends than most.
$5 K budget is what they say but that's just impossible for most of us.

I think this list goes in the budget of $5K.

Eos 5d mII not listed

"EF Lenses used in the making of REVERIE:
FD 7.5mm f/5.6 (converted to EF mount)
EF 16-35mm f/2.8L II USM
EF 24-70mm f/2.8L USM
EF 50mm f/1.2L USM
EF 85mm f/1.2L II USM
EF 135mm f/2L USM
EF 200mm f/1.8L USM
EF 400mm f/2.8L IS USM
EF 500mm f/4L IS USM
TS-E 24mm f/3.5L
TS-E 45mm f/2.8"

And all the Apple editing gear.
Lighting, Tripods, Steady carts, Gyro stabilizers the list goes on
The donated time of crew and Actors music royalty donated by Moby.
And of course the Heli ride.

Ok, $1M is a Sarcasm but this was not done for $5k by a long shot.

All that said I still want one Laughing

To be fair, Canon has created a very nice camera Smile
I don't know how it competes with 5D but video shooting capacity is a really cool option as we will be able to use our quality MF gear. I'll buy one but 1 or 2 years later I guess Very Happy
