Venice in Velvia

I had to wait almost a month before having my rolls developed (how I hate labs that close in august!) but finally I managed to scan the shot I made in Venice with the Pentacon Six. All the shots are basically unaltered, except some sharpening (needed with flatbed scanners) and levels (because the scanner light gives a blue dominant color).

Flek 50 and Velvia 100F

Volna 3 and Velvia 50

Alessandro, all are great shots but 4,5,6, and 7 are stunners in my book! Shocked

You guys are cheating with all these exotic locales, shee-yott!

But thanks for sharing! Wink Very Happy

And the colors! Cool

Bill

Btw, for the ones who still don't believe in the power of film here's a detail of one of the shots above.

The complete image in web resolution and quality showing the crop, the original is almost 64 MegaPixels.

The 100% crop

And this is Velvia 100F that has a huger grain (and so less detail) than Velvia 50.

Congrats, Alessandro!.

Velvia is a film with a lot of "character", someone hates it, others love it. I think it's perfect where you have a lot of colors and you like to have them reproduced with good saturation and strong contrast. Of course this means that isn't a film for all light situations and scenes, but I think it replied the reality of Venice better than most others mediums.

I got them 3 days ago, one of them is already passed in the hands of my friend. The Helios virus is spreading out!

Excellent
Thank you for sharing these. It looks like you had a nice time there also.
I sympathize with you Bill. These guys are cheating with these beautiful old cities. Rolling Eyes

I think I'll drag the old 67 down to the strip mall and take some snaps of Wallies and that new apartment complex. Can't wait to see the big negs of those big "inflatable" buildings.
