I picked them up at ASAKUSA, old down town Edo (Tokyo).
Here is a photo of two modded lenses.
Sorry photos are all done by D700 + Distagon T* 2/35ZF + Jpeg +5 USM +2 sarturation (this was too strong to me)

@Asakusa, close to a river

Asakusa shopping street (every foreigner must come here!)

Half price sale for sweets at NAKAMISE street (above too)

Big lantern at the gate to the famous temple (I did not shoot)

Typical old shop for sweets in Asakusa

G-Planar 45 modded is not mine, 21mm is. Aperture ring does not have
dents, bit of dissapointment but movement is smooth. Helicoid is bit
difficult to rotate for who has big fingers, the finish is good. The lens
rotate while focusing, this is also a bit of dissapointment too. You may
grab the top of the lens and rotate to focus, this might be a way to focus.

The actual shop which does modifcations also measure the true focal distance
of each lens and spherical abberation too, then gives comments to each lens.

The shop which handles those modifications are very close to the above
place in photos, but hard to find it since they are not advertising neither.

The photo results are excellent! However I don't know if I'd had the nerve to do something like this to my lenses Shocked

The lenses look Great!
I'm excited to try that Planar 45.
It seems this shop is really very efficient in getting these done Smile

Thanks Koji Very Happy

Sorry, I don't quite get it. You say "modded". What for?

Carsten,

The lens is G-Planar 2/45mm and 2.8/21mm for Contax G1/2, so they were modified
to M-mount ones in Tokyo. There might be a shop to do the same thing in US, but I do not know.

You can mount those lens to any Leica or Bessa cameras, actual modified lens has L-mount
but they are calibrated to M-mount with L->M mount adaptor together. It is an exra US$35!

The store clark said they have done a couple of hundred mods so far. The actual shop is
Miyazaki_optical in Tokyo, they make many adapters but does not deal with from outside japan.
