Nice classic piece.
After getting a Sony a7r I rushed to use it, to discover the following problem.
The built-in lens hood seems to be very misaligned, causing heavy vignetting.
Comparing it to a picture of a Contax/Yashica copy, the problem is pretty obvious.

I guess someone has messed with the lens.
Do you think this is easy to fix? _________________ Νίκος • www.diafragma.gr

Rollei cannot be adapted to EOS. The adapter would have to be 0.6mm thick...
But I have bought an EOS mount designed to fit Rollei lenses.
I will find a good technician to remove the original mount and replace it with the EF one.
Apart from this, who has a Rollei SL35 camera now? _________________ Νίκος • www.diafragma.gr

My old M42 to Yashica/Contax adapters have zero millimeter thickness between the flanges - and work very well.
Due to the width Canon EF mount most adapters take the room inside the camera mount, and the flange-flange distance is not a big problem. 0.6mm are probably not easy to work with during production, but my Rollei QBM-Canon EOS adapter works well with the longer 85mm Rollei lens. _________________ Camera modification, repair and DIY - some links to look through: http://www.4photos.de/camera-diy/index-en.html

like I said before.. it can be adapted and there are some very good adapters. Only some of the lenses won't work on 5D, one of them is the Zeiss Planar 1.4/50 _________________ Regards

I own a working Rolleiflex SL35 and some none working SL35 and a SL 350 (automatic f-stop transfer to the cam and no neccesarity for stopping down at metering) Up to now I only have 25,50,85,135&299mm lenses.
The very most interesting lenses 1.4/35, 1,4/85, 4/18 and Your 2,8/16 fisheye I could'nt affort yet.
But one thing I have to appeal to You Nikos:
PLEASE do NOT convert Your F-Distagon to Canon EF type, if conversion is not easiely to cancel with no damage to the lens!
Looking to Your pics of the lens front I can't see any separation in the front element. This is very often to notice on the F-Distagons made for Rollei. So Your lens is a lttle bit of rare, DON'T convert it!
Try an adapter solution first!
Did You have a look to the very very attractive design of early Rolleiflex SL35 & 350?
They are very much more pleasure made than later Rolleiflex types!
