..about using a lens on bellows. Wink

Today I have received some bellows for M42-mount, finally!

Finally a chance to try my Will, Wetzlar Wilon 4.5/105 (which has been on a large format cam before I got it).

This is the set-up:

And here are some shots from today: All, but the last, ISO400, "freehand", EOS350D
1
f4.5
unsharpened 100% crop

2
f5.6 (one stop down)
3

4
f4.5

5
(My Mum.) f5.6 - It's a pity that the focus is slightly off.

6
f4.5 / ISO800
unsharpened 100% crop

This is taken from my laptop display (1280x800)!

Shocked Embarassed Laughing Many people say that, but it has changed a little, the older I get the more I look like my Dad. Wink

Thanks. It's not so "vintage", really. AFAIK it's from the 1970s or '80s.

What I really like about this (or these?) bellows is that you can adjust the orientation of the M42-mount.
I turned it until it looks like this on my cam:

The red arrow indicates the knurl that widens and shortens the bellows and thus focusses the lens.
It is very handy there, because your left hand can easily grip it.

that would explain a lot. Great setup in any case.

I'll have to post my new bellows setup soon.

No, but on bellows it is easy to focus IMHO.

Yes, indeed! I do not plan to catch up with him. I just kind of copied his idea how to mount a lens that cannot really be mounted. Wink

Nice lens (very sharp) and good bellow, it seem to be solid.

The pic of your mother looks great. Congratulation, you have your mother alive, fantastic, you are a good luck man.

Surprising results. The close-up of the screen text shows how our eyes are fooled by distance.

Yes, usually you just swing back and fort and don't touch any rings at all. When the object falls from table you are too close .. Wink

Welcome in the "second_chance_for_orphan_enlarger_and_foldings_on_bellows_mounted_lenses_club" Very Happy
This Will-Willon looks like an enlarger lens , may be ? I remember my first enlarger with a 50mm Will Wetzlar.

PostPosted: Mon Jul 14, 2008 2:25 pm    Post subject: Reply with quote

I think it originally was an enlarger lens, but it has been used on large format before I got it. So it must have quite a large projection diameter.
Anyway, it works nicely and I like it. Wink
