I did not want to hijack Alex' thread, so here further shots using that mysterious Leitz objective (lens?)
at various aperture settings:

Something about that lens: It seems to be from a Leitz microscope, has a factory attached variable aperture, f4 up to f16 (but opens up wider approx f3 - 3.5). M39 (Leica) screw mount it has. Had it since long, never used it before. It shows 10 reflections, so a 5e/5g design most likely. Nice golden (single) coating. All stainless steel housing (or matte chromed brass), very heavy, very nice. Made for 170mm tube length seemingly. Not very tolerant regarding focusing range, maybe 100cm - 10cm

It shows a lot less spherical aberrations wide open than mine. Nice softness.
