I have 2 - I don't like the stonework so I got rid of it. Incidentally the hills remind me of the Malverns in Worcestershire...

OK guys, I've had a look at all the entries and I like Hugh's (Snodge) black and white interpretation the best.

Congratulations Hugh, you are this week's winner, please post a new challenge. Very Happy

Well I think that's log enough for to get people looking at the image I put up. I like all of the edits, but I'd not considered making a portrait image out of it and I think it works really well, so I'd like to congratulate Olivier on being the winner!

Thanks...

Hugh

Thank you Hugh ! Very Happy

So, revival of contest.
This week's challenge : some cleaning and improvements ?

Shot in South of France, Saint-Rémy de Provence in august 2014 the 15th. Canon 5D MkII + Canon EF 40mm f2.8.
It was a special day with Camarguese bulls races. That's the reason of the red and white stripes.
Here is Nostradamus at his window (he was born in Saint Rémy de Provence december 1503 the 14th and died in Saint Rémy de Provence July 1566 the 2nd).

I don't do Photoshopping, but when I do... you can usually tell! I had to though for that tape. Played around a bit to give it a bit of a different feel...

few more things removed plus b&w

PostPosted: Thu Apr 02, 2015 8:07 am    Post subject: Reply with quote

Time for decision.
Not easy task this week.

Edgar, I like your vision, vertical and horizontal. Very Happy

Hugh, I had your work in mind : keep Nostradamus looking at a woman passing by Under his Windows.
Nice job and I just regret you kept the scooter and the road sign.

Nurkov made a huge job on this one, erasing everything needed, especially in the B&W version.
I would have left the woman.
Wink

Congrats and thank you all.

Finally, as a choice has to be made, I choose Nurkov as winner of this weeks' challenge.
Please post a new one ! Very Happy

thanks a lot for that, today something different, taken about 1983 or 4, believe it or not i'm in this picture. The easiest way to restore it is to convert to b&w but I would like to keep it in colour. Have fun

All in Lightroom:
- Added tint to shadows to reduce blueness
- Changed exposure (brighter)
- Radial filter around people to soften background
- Adjustments to red, orange, yellow and green sliders
- Some minor sharpening and minor noise reduction
- Flipped the cropped image just to make it a bit different (I prefer subjects looking in from the right)
- A bit of straightening for the verticals on the building
