This lens is compensating one, ie. in order to retain constant f4 the lens'
isris closes a bit at 25mm wide end and f4.

I don't know any zoom lenses from Nikor, this looks pretty nice to me. What is your opinion ?

This lens is fairly sharp with a mild barrel distortion, was very popular
among land-scape shooters since Nikon did not have a wide zoom.

My opinion: difficult to focus, heavy and large to carry. Very Happy
Although IQ is quite acceptable, far better than my skill can handle. Laughing

5. Babble, 5D, C1

One of my favorite lenses. I love the color and the lack of chromatic aberration. Perfect? No. Minor ghosting can occur when the sun hits that huge front element, it's not as sharp as some newer wide zooms, and, as mentioned, it's quite heavy--600g. Feels fine on my D700, not bad on my F2A, but feels very clunky on my FE.

A San Diego street, late afternoon.

I'm still trying to decide whether I like this lens. It's fairly sharp but not among Nikon's best. I think the utility of its range is pretty good, but I often find myself using it at 25mm, so why not just use one of the tiny 24mm Nikkors? Anyway, still fun if you don't have to carry it very far.

I like the 25-50 just because it's fun to use. It may not be perfect but it is still a nice piece of glass.

This was at 50mm, pretty sharp in the full sized image.
