Thanks for the kind comments..

Only one shot!Very Happy

Better ask the question, how many nonsense i did speak to her, to nail her on the same position and make her smile...Very Happy
Thats IMHO is the main thing... focus her interest to the photographer.. play with her.. make compliments, ask her for doing something special.. such amateur-models are thankful for leading them, give them a joke

That let her respond to you and gives you time to nail the focus...

Cheers
Henry

That's what makes the huge difference between a Professional and an amateur. Very Happy

Was it in Venice ?
Or in some carnaval in germany, such as Köln ?

Cheers
Olivier

Here is one using my Sigma SD-9 and Accura TC 105mm 2.4 This is my daughter in law Erika.

The SD-9 is difficult to use with MF lenses but every now and again I might get a good one.

Thanks to all for this wonderful site.

Regards,

Gavin Very Happy

Hello Gavin.

Wonderful portrait. Smile
Very gentle atmosphere. We feel the tenderness in the eyes and attitude.
Perfect focus on the eyes. Very small depth of field. You surely shot it wide open (f2.4).
I like the 105mm for portrait.

Did she pose for you or did you photograph her on the fly ?

You are absolutely true about this site. Wink

Thank you Oliver for the kind words. She did pose for me and I did shoot at f2.4 I think.

Her personality shows in this picture as she is a very kind and gentle person.

My Accura 105 always continues to amaze me, I also have the same lens in the Spiratone brand. Both made by Sankor.

Regards,

Gavin

Thanks, colleagues. It was taken with my EOS 5D and a Zeiss Planar 50mm 1.7 (if I'm not wrong) in one of the portraiture sessions I was attending some time ago to learn portrait shooting. My daughter (in the picture) came also as photographer, but accepted to pose for me.
