One of the well-known medium format lens of its time. My copy is in chrome housing with screw mount of M39x0.75.

This lens is decently sharp wide open at my 5N. At F4, it become very sharp. For color and bokeh, I would say it is very typical Schneider style.

All photos processed in LR5.2 with only necessary adjustment.

Interesting it was in M39.
Is this version with a helical or just the lens head ?

Nice results!

My copy is mounted in what looks like a homemade helicoid with a Miranda mount (of all things) stuck on the back. I was impressed with results as well. Do you have photos of the lens? See examples of mine on a Nex 3 here:

Can't wait to give it a try on the A7!

Best,

Paul

What a nice looking lens! My copy looks like it was hacked from the front of a Rollei TLR, but yours looks more like it is in an enlarging or close-up (bellows) lens mount - which would explain the LTM screw threads . Does that mount have a focus helical?

It is great to hear the result is good. Smile

Paul. This is only a lens head without a helicoid. The threads are not LTM(M39 with 26tpi) but M39x0.75mm. I adapted it to M42 to fit into a helicoid. It takes standard 49mm filter.

Really interesting! What is M39 x 0.75 typically used for?

The documents from Schneider mentioned M39x0.75 is for #1 shutter.

That is even more interesting, since I though a Xenotar lens in shutter would also have some rear elements mounted behind the shutter as well!

I am not sure because I am not very familiar with shutters.
