A second test of my 'new' Nikon D50 with 950nm IR filter. I used my old Nikkor-N 2.8/24. I've included a couple of visible light versions for comparison.

Cheers. The light was fading fast, so the trees came out gray rather than white.I discovered that the focus shift with the 950nm filter is massive, so I had to compensate a lot more and that solved the sharpness issue.

I did a lot of reading first, and it proved to be rather simple to figure out once I actually bought the camera. Smile

Thanks fellas. I have to confess, apart from the tree with the sun to the right, I've made exactly the same shot in both digital and BW film in the past, so I was just replicating old work in a different spectrum, no creative thought had to go into these, I was just recycling old ideas.

Tomas, the filter I used for these was a 950nm cheap one, you're probably better off getting a 720nm one as the focus shift is much less and you only lose a little bit of light, whereas this 950nm seems to cut out 10-11 stops.

This is the 950nm I used, I bought it because it was only 1.99:

This is the 720nm one I bought, not arrived yet:
