Hi,
Sharp center, beauty colors, for a non-MC lens it flares nearby zero. Some CA, but, who cares? LR4 is your friend...
I'm waiting the Mir 1b to put my hands over my first Mir lens, can't wait for.
How much exposure correction you have to make for this lens to fit well on histogram?

I took from the seller two lenses, with the terms - I'll give one back.
One in a compact body and a big old one. Oldest and largest was in the original packaging, with filters - like new.
I did not expect that it is so good. Knowing the problems of this series of lenses - I was very surprised and happy that I got a good copy. With the Soviet lenses - it's like winning the Lotteries jackpot!
A more recent version in a compact body was much worse in all, I returned it back to the seller. _________________ _____________________________________

Just curious, did the CA gone when you stopped down the lens?
Could you update some photos with f-stop?
The close-ups look very good, but the infinity ones seem to loose detail and CA - perhaps not reach infinity or past infinity?
Flare is no problem too.
Edit: I look at the last photo, it is GOOD detail. |

I also have a "MIR 1B" but I can not use it to the full. On my Canon 5D and 5DmkII if i set the lens to infinity- it back element touches the mirror
About exposure compensation - I do not remember exactly I'm doing this but -
hands themselves do it and I do not pay attention ... I will try to look this information in LR later. _________________ _____________________________________

I can not say for sure about aperture in what place i used: but more often I used only two - f:5,6 and f:8.
First pics in this post - in a 100% - f:3,5
Yes, the CA left if you close the aperture more - I too was surprised.
The close-ups so shows the funny curvature of sharpness field
Yes, I agree, on some shots infinity bit loose, and "detail" bit loose too, but I was trying to set the lens by Live-View (set a lens to infinity on the lens scale - gives a small overrun in the camera), it could be my fault and/or some unknown feature of the lens - depending on the shooting conditions. _________________ _____________________________________
