I imagine a red haired fairy in this irish landscape !

Cheers Olivier!

BTW, I am red-headed but not a fairy! lol

It's not Ireland, it's NW England, but everyone mistakes it for Ireland, very similar scenery.

Another WOW ! It's almost like an HDR with Orton effect.

100 miles north of Manchester on the Irish Sea coast, very remote place.

Thanks. BTW, what is the Orton effect? It is two HDR shots stitched side by side.

an old darkroom technique using a sharp exposure and a slightly out of focus exposure to produce a print or Slide Dupe with detail and a soft glow combined. It's been a while since I've done it but I always liked the effect. Not unlike the results you are getting in this shot Smile

Cheers for explanation. HDR often gives you that glow effect, it works great on some subjects, not so great on others, you have to be careful with HDR tone mapping not to overdo things and make it look cartoonish.

This is quite a special building in the city i work in. The building is called '52 degrees'. I love the architecture. As you can see in this and the previous post it's a dark building, wich makes it hard to photograph in daylight with a nice sky. At night the blocks on the top floors light up in different colours, so i'll have to do a nighttime shoot once. Hope you like them. These two were done with S-M-C Takumar 3.5/28 on EOS 500D

Hi JoyD !
I like #2 because of the contrats between light and shadow.
Is it the hidden sense of this photo : passing from light to shadow (or reverse) ? Very Happy

Hi my lord.

I already voted for your picture.

Here are now my comments. Smile

I like it, especially for the choice of B&W, the unusual sight of Venise (even if it's more and more like that due to the weather), the perspective with that huge poster on the wall, and then my eyes notice the water splash in bottom right and finaly a fine lady smiling happy to play in water like a child.

Where are you from ?

Here are a few; I'd like to get more into architecture, once I have a proper 4x5 field camera Smile

The TS-E 17/4L is certainly a joy to use in architectural settings.
