Hi,

this afternoon I played a little bit around. Below a series of always the same image which was taken in RAW and then PP with ACR and CS5.
From high key to low key and in between few other variations.

this is not that much power of raw, as it is power of mathematics behind adobe tools. you can do same thing with other raw developers or graphics editors such as gimp, photivo etc. please understand what is what a raw benefits and what is others benefits. raw benefit is not even the ability to do so bigger exposure correction compared to jpeg. if jpeg were a 14bit format, not only 8bit, you will be able to do almost as much magic as you do here with adobe tools and raw file.
