I am saddened to report that on the night of Dec.20/2011 Max passed away peacefully and unexpectedly in his daddy's arms at the age of 14 1/2. You could see the confusion in Emmy as she went to bed in their crate alone . . .
Over the last few years Max even when exhausted demonstrated he was always up for more if it involved his people.
He was loved and he will be missed . . . Sad !!

My condolences Jim about Max' passing, surely a very sad moment for you.

Thanks guys.
Yes when you lose someone who was part of your life for 14 1/2 years and who taught you so much, you can't help to saddened. When Max was gotten, Lana had come into a small payout from her dad's insurance when he passed - she decided at that time I needed another Dachshund and the rest is a long friendship.
As humans with the lifespan of dogs we keep putting ourselves through the grieving process when they pass - but as Lana noted without these animals our lives would be empty.
As for Max while we were cuddling he gave a spasm and I didn'y even know he had passed - at least his last experience was being loved . . .

@mo
Thanks. I always liked dogs better than cats. But I always had the impression that cats like being photographed much more than dogs do.

@Olivier
He's actually a couch potato who sometimes likes to go out by himself for long runs in the country. But when he's not running (2-3 hours a day) he's on the sofa, sleeping. Anyway, it would be really hard to cut his nails, he doesn't like that very much.

That's right.
My dog always look elsewhere when he sees I want to photograph him...
Cats stare at the camera, wash themselves, surely to look handsome Smile

Let me introduce our second cat Memo originally from Thassos, Greece.

Shot with the Sony NEX-5N and the CV 35/1.2 v2 and the Hawk's Factory helicoid adapter. Quite heavily processed.

Apologies if I posted a picture of my pet before, I really can't remember.

This is Denis (yes, spelt with one N as he's named after Denis Law, the King of Old Trafford) my Chilean Fire Tarantula.

Smile

Pet is just a meter right from the tree.
That is why it's called BLACK russian terrier.
