Hi folks

This is very similar to it's 200mm big brother and has the same qualities - beautiful silver finish with superb build quality (really cool sliding telescopic hood design) and is laser sharp with great contrast and colours. #1 and #4 are wide open, others are at f8.

I know, every time I go out to shoot I have so many really good lenses to chose from, such a hard life!

Definitely want to buy more Topcors though, I really like the two I have, something about how they render really appeals to me.

The RE AUTO 2.8/35mm one of my all time fav's Rolling Eyes
but so is this 135

I'll keep my eye out for a 2.8/35, thanks for the tip!

Modest-aperture lenses are easier to design and manufacture. These results are therefore not surprising.

My addiction kicked in again when I saw a vgc 1.8/58 and I was able to grab it for 26ukp which I think is very reasonable. Looking forward to comparing it to my Pancolar 1.8/50 on my Exakta mount Sony a200. I've got a mint 2.8/50 Tessar as well so be interesting to compare their renderings, I already know tall three are very sharp and have great IQ, what I'm interested in is their character...

Sorry to hijack this thread, but would any of you have any info on 135mm f/2.8 AM Topcor?

Edit: oh, the picture looks broken to me but seems you can see it. Added it again.

Not heard of that one, looks like a typical 1970s Japanese or Korean 2.8/135, probably not made by Topcor and dates from when the name was being put on cheap SLRs (Cosina? Chinon?)

Shot this today in poor light with my Topcor 3.5/135, pretty sharp imho, I forget what aperture now, wide open I think.

That Topcor 135 f2.8 is the same as my Super Paragon 135 2.8 - which is a Cimko lens and very good indeed, one of my favorites. The only cosmetic difference I can see is the focusing grip, on my 'Cimko' it's got a straight line finish instead of the pyramids. The printing and the green diamond are exactly the same, apparently the green diamond is a sure sign of a Cimko lens.

Mine also has a neat built in sliding hood.

Thank you!

This has also the built-in hood. No problems except a bit stiff focus and haven't had the time to shoot with it, or with anything for that matter, lately.

Some more pics:

The Super Paragon - Cimko - Topcon.

I've been using mine today, with good results.[/img]

My god you're right, clearly they are separated at birth.

Except...are you on half-stop there? Mine only does full stops.

That "AM Topcor" is a K-mount lens right?
The RE AUTO's are the Exakta/Topcon, and their "best glass" I believe?

No, not my cat, just one that I noticed was watching me.

Some shots I made today with the Topcor 135mm, all at f8 apart from #1 which is wide open.

That's very good, the detail's all there and it's not too strident, it looks natural.

Yes, it's not too bad, shame about the wall and the sheep going a bit yellow.
