Finally decided to bid on one of these:

Thinking thin sheets of 24Kt gold would be nice. Would have to change my
name to Aureus Goldshutter or sumptin... Laughing

That might be a nice shooter! Not for light packed trips however Laughing . It is partly folding ofcourse, but not fitting for a coatpocket.
Nice for portraits with a 135mm.

Thanks, Minolfan, I'm looking at some other lenses, too.

Just as well there are plenty alligators for all the pimped cameras. Smile

Do they exist in that kind of red Laughing ?

The skin of my C33 is still OK, but dull grey ofcourse. I might think about an other colour.

Been a busy day, but the Mamiyaflex arrived today:

I think this little lady has some personality. Will take her to work for a nice
warm bath and think about some new clothes. Smile Love the bright VF!

Here are some from my first roll shot today using TMAX 400 dev'd in
HC-110, 1:63, 11 mins, 20C. I can't budge the fstop lever off of f4. Sad
Will take the lens to the shop and see if lighter fluid or some of my other
solvents can reason with it:

at The Flying Monkey

at work

at home, dogwood leaves close-up test, got the parallax correction this time

I won another in much better shape (and less money) with the 105 lens:

First pictures look quite good. The purchase of the second is a real bargain, congratulations!

Minolfan, thanks, I had a small bottle of lighter fluid in the cupboard I forgot
about, and the fstop lever now is fully functional from f2.8 to f32. Looking
forward to trying the 2nd one with the 105 lens.

Thanks again.

Bill, those pics are crap, the camera is crap and a waste of your good cupboard space. I can help you out by taking one of them off your hands, however, purely out of humanitarian concern. Laughing

The Flying Monkey shots are very nice. I've long thought of these Mamiyas, though I've been a bit concerned about the bulk and weight of the beasts. I suppose the bulk and weight helps to steady the camera.

Seems you made a great deal ! Congrats!

Jussi and Attila, thanks! The lenses are the reason I went after these. Plus,
the macro capability when you extend the bellow makes this a versatile
shooter, albeit heavy. But I'm used to the Koni, so no problem! Laughing

The Flying Monkey is an old linen factory down in the rough part of town and
has live theater, artists, photographers, and a couple of bookstores. My
buddy Bob Valentine, possibly the most preeminent guitarist in the region,
is guesting with a group there tonight, so I'll see if I can get some decent
shots. But will probably take my Trip 35 and the newly acquired 35SP for
the shooting. Wasn't going to post this one, but this is the stairwell to the
place (you have to circle around to the back to get in, lol) and I didn't nail
the exposure very well:

and a fave from a guy using the 65 wide lens, showing the close-up
capability:

Is this the C2?

Yes, center grouping far left, doesn't have the crank which I like. Some
people get carried away with the crank, like they just hooked a big marlin
when advancing the film. lol

Nice shots!!

I've had a few of these, from C3 - C220 through C330.. with 4 different lenses only trouble I had was the view screen.. if they need cleaning for any reason for God's sake DO NOT MISPLACE the paper shims beneath them.. You will be in a world of pain trying to get the screen and the film plane in agreement ever again!

I spent hours with a light source, a darkened room, and groung glass of the correct thickness in the film plane readjusting mine!!!

YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!! lol

Doug

To be forewarned is to be fourarmed, or all thumbs, thanks, Doug. Wink

Excellent shots, great camera. I also have had several Mamiya "C" series cameras. They are sure clumsy to operate but man . . what great pics one can get.

Cheers

Jules

Jules, thanks, and agree about how awkward this camera is, but hope to
get better with it. My 2nd C2 arrived today, but just got home an hour ago
from shooting a wedding down in Albertville and I'm beat. Open the box
tomorrow and maybe take a pic of both of them together.
