If you didn't know yet, I like night photography Smile I'd like to show some recent examples from a location nearby my home. All are panoramic photos and shot with D700 + Nikkor 28mm f/2 MF. I don't think I've used this prime for many shots other than night photography, but for what I've used it, it's a very good one!

The following 3 panoramas are made with the mentioned configuration Smile There are more images from this location, both night and day shots, but with AF lenses... Embarassed I have started a photographic project to photograph this location for one year long: visit the gallery on my zenfolio-website.

1. 28mm, f/4, 30s, ISO800, PS-stack of 57 images

2. 28mm, f/4, 30s, ISO800, stitched from 7 shots

3. 28mm, f/4, 30s, ISO800, stitched from 18 images, 1400px-version on website

Thank you for looking Smile

Magical. I like it very much. How long did you expose?

All shots here are 30s. The star trails is a stack of 57 such images.

Heel indrukwekkend.

This is really very impressive work !! Please share more with us.
my fave from composition is #3 but all 3 are outstanding.

have I understood right ?: you made 57 shots, each 30seconds (so about 30minutes work) and then combined them with the stack function with PS ?

Cheers
Tobias

I add the images as new layers, put them in "lighten" mode. I open them per 10, merge them together, add another 10, etc... until I have arrived at 57 images. In the end, I choose the background layer - there are 57 images to choose from. In this case, it has been important to choose an image without movement in the water. Only five of 57 were good enough.

OMG! I'm not into landscapes but I know beauty when I see one. #1 is absolutely fantastic. I wish I were this good.
