Still More CV90/3.5 Images - I've Gone Wild

Sorry for all the repetition, but I guess this IS the forum to show the
abilities of various lenses. Confused

Here is a good demonstration of the depth-of-field at f:5.6 on the
CV90/3.5. You can see the fall-off at both the top and the bottom
of the image. There is about 3 feet of focused area, and in fact the
hyperfocal was at 2 1/2 feet or so, according to my (possibly flawed Laughing )
calculations.

As usual with the lens, no real need for sharpening.

The Camellia was shot at wide open (f:3.5) and you can see the very
short depth of field. In this case, the focused areas were right where I
wanted them - in the flower petals themselves. I'm pretty shocked at
the clarity of wide-open shots. But the biggest surprise for me is that
the combination of Provia and the lens creates color that is SO true
to life to my eyes. Shocked

I fooled around with the DOF preview on the new/old
Pentax ZX-5n, which is a nice feature. I found that f:3.5 was just
enough to include the flower AND the lower and right-hand
leaves that frame the petals. The deep, almost metallic greens of
the leaves were perfectly rendered for color. Another nice feature
is that this lens close focuses to "nearly macro".

Another wide-open, don't mind the dust bunnies and other "stuff"
that I didn't clone out.

Hey GREAT! Thanks very much for taking the time to "take a shot" at the
rather "wanky" waterfall image! Very Happy And thanks for the encouragement you
have given me over these past months. It is totally appreciated.

Awesome results, Laurence! 2 and 3 are my faves, but all three have
vivid colors. Was this Provia 100F or the 400X? I have a roll of the 400X
I need to shoot. Haven't seen any examples from this film.

Superb rendering at wide open, what a lens, and excellent trademark work!

Thanks Bill! Like I said to Trifox, I APPRECIATE all these months of
encouragement from you. This was Provia 100F, my favorite film. Would
love to see what 400X renders though. I can imagine it's pretty darn
good.

Those images are great quality. You should post them in the galley section rather than jere as this looks more than just a lens test.

I may try some Provia after seeing those results.

It's difficult to say that but your pics are over the lens test.

Very, very nice again.

Thanks. Rino.

#2 and 3 are simply nice. I have always enjoy looking at your pics, well trained eyes which goes to show even more so that it's the person behind the glass that matters.

I wonder whether the rangefinder version of the lens performs similarly or is it inferior to it's SLR siblings.

My fave is # 2. Great composition, fine colour nuances. This pic is an eyecatcher.
