Here is a comparison to the Zeiss ZE 100/2. The sharpness are comparable to the Zeiss but the CA control is much better(the Makro-Planar is known for the high CA at wide open).

I like the portraits shown on their site a lot.

The comparison with the ZF 2/100mm is very easy to win, I sold mine because of that very prominent CA after just a few days. Wink

Thanks for the correction! The Zeiss is in ZF mount as the test is done on a Nikon camera. Laugh 1

There are lots of samples of the bokeh in the back and I am also interested to see more show the front bokeh. A direct comparison with the Minolta STF will be even more valuable than comparing it to a Zeiss!

Yes, I fully agree, a STF lens SHOULD be comnpared to another STF lens and not compare apples with oranges!

What is this 'Smooth Trans Focus' thingy? I've never heard of it and my Chinese is a bit rusty.

Performance looks great Like 1 small

I looked at the third link earlier but came away none the wiser.
I can't see anything unusual, different or special in the images either.
I think I need more sleep, I was up all night watching boxing Confused

Good idea also to get rid the "side effects" of such events... Wink

I did not understand very clearly how to adjust the aperture. Is it a preset lens or counted clicks is required. Question
Unfortunately for the system I use (Pentax) it is missing the diaphragm lever, which would have simplified the lens use.

From what I know, it is similar to the Minolta STF. There is two sets of aperture and aperture control: the top one is the STF aperture which is step-less and the lower on is the conventional aperture with clicks. The Pentax K version will offer automatic aperture control which makes it works like a Pentax-A lens.

Wow, that would be great to be an A lens. Other lenses made from them are not so.

Does it say when available?
in US and EU?

Looks like a great lens.

The pre-order is opened now in China(ends to today) but I don't know when it will be available for the oversea market.

Looks good so far; I'm not threatened about its weight at all.

I have waited over three months for this lens and I am starting to loose my patience.
Lots of delays, shipping confirmation that was a system error ++
I am not impressed about this company, be aware

This is not a good news. Normally, you should get the parcel after they ship it within three weeks. However, it could be more than a month if there are issues.

Shipping confirmation came two and a half month ago and was a system error and the lens delivery has been postponed a few times. I got in touch with them yesterday and my lens has been shipped three days ago, they say. It is odd that I had to ask for that and the tracking number, no email, not a word from the company.

Lets just hope the lens is ok which is one of the most interesting ones lately IMO Wink
