On the plus side I'd put in a very low bid on an AI 35mm f2 and failed, then I got a second chance offer with a bit of history about the lens's previous usage on an expedition to the Himalayas and did I know that despite being in very good condition with clean optics it was a 30 odd year old lens for manual cameras
