I just have learned that you can get these lenses in M42:

- Rodenstock Heliogon1.9/50
- Rollei Distagon CZ 2.8/25

These would be very interesting lenses, wouldn't they? Wink

Congratulations. The Distagon looks very interesting (and rare) Smile

Oh no, I did not buy them. I have only read about them.
They are very interesting, though. And if I ever see saw one, I would be ready to spend some money.

Carsten
I dont think these are M42's so you may have no interest, but I believe you can buy
a Rollei35 to EOS adapter if memory serves me right?

The Zeiss made Rollei Distagon lens is a pure collector item (it also comes under the Color-Skoparex name). It is usually found in Rollei QBM mount and is very rare in M42 mount. I guess a nice sample would cost even more than the new Zeiss lens. As a side note, Ivor Matanle gives this lens a 3 star rating on a 4 star scale, while the 28mm F/2.8 Rolleinar-MC get the maximum rating.

For the pleasure of your eyes, here's a picture of the diva:

As for the Rodenstock Heligon, it was made in M42 mount for the Edixa DSLRs. It is also quite rare, but I bet it's a less interesting lens (lenses designed for the Edixa series were usually not the top of the range). Here's the picture:

Cheers!

Wow, Abbazz!! Thanks very much.
I did not expect these lenses to be the best lenses, but their names "sing", don't they? Wink
(And thanks to your pictures, I can say that I like their looks as well...)

If I saw someone who shoots with a Rodenstock lens on his EOS (or something), I would go to him immediately and ask him about the lens, and so start a conversation. Very Happy

I let you imagine the weird looks I got last Sunday from other photographers when I was shooting with Contax and Leica on EOS. Laughing

And changing lenses - something that most of those people are probably not doing since a lifetime during a session (they all had one camera and one lens - Nikon in most cases - absolutely no lens bag while I was carrying a stuffed one!) Laughing

Isn't that a great feeling to be seen as a peculiar maverick? The "lone wolf" of the modern photographers. Laughing
Actually, not that "lonely" as we can see here in this forum. Wink
