This noname lens arrived today.



It has a c-mount and I tried it at once on my NEX.

Well, it's a nice lens, pretty fast and you can produce a shallow DoF despite the 25mm, but unfortunately it does not cover the whole APS image sensor.

It would be OK, though, for a µ4/3 cam, I guess.

Here you can see the amount of vignetting:


For video it can almost be used on a NEX, due to the video mode crop.

But since the effective image shows (after cropping out the vignette) about the same as with my 1.7/35, that 1.4/25 is not of much use for me.

I am thinking about selling it again. Anybody interested?

Perhaps I will test a little more and then decide.
(You never know if I won't have a µ4/3 as well one day. Wink)

It's the same lens as I have, I made a post about it somewhere, it's offered with different brand names and brandless and even as the rip off "toy lens" by slr magic.

It's a really fun lens and only vignettes slightly on M43. Like you say the 35mm F1.7 is a better choice for the nex!
