TopCor Tribute

TopCor Tribute by Mike Woolley

On the left is the real Auto-TopCor 58mm f1.4 from the Topcon RE Super of 1963.

On the right is the modern Cosina / Voigtlander replica from 2004 (in Nikon mount).

As you can see, Cosina did a great job replicating the original TopCor, even down to the Tokyo Kogaku engravings and lens hood.

The real TopCor is a fair bit fatter (taking a 62mm filter rather than 58mm for the replica).

The aperture and focus rings go in opposite directions, with the replica going in the Nikon/Pentax direction (as it was made for Ai-S & M42) and the TopCor going in the opposite direction.
The Nikon "Rabbit Ears" and ADR also give the game away somewhat Smile

According to CameraQuest, only 1600 of these Replicas were made (800 in M42 and 800 in Ai-S).
