I found a beautiful looking RE Auto Topcor 58mm 1.8 lens, like mint.
But the aperture doesn't work properly. Sticky, or a spring stuck?
Anyone experience with dismantlling/repair one of those?
I would be happy with some advice.

My copy has developed slow blades due to oil on them, so it might be that. I don't fancy trying to take it apart so I'll have to send it to a repair service. Sad

I can still move the blades by moving the little nipple on the backside of the lens, but it doesn't work very easy.
It appears to be that no spring is working to shut the aprture automatic. Therefore I think it might be a spring causing the troubles.
But ofcourse the spring can be too week to serve oily blades.
Well, at least I can try the lens W.O. Sad

PM Mir he can probably strip them, clean them and put them back together blindfold by now. They are relatively easy to work on once you find your way around them, I`ve been inside the 58 1.4, 35 2.8 and a 25mm 3.5 so far and haven`t broken anything other than a grub screw.

Mir will almost definitely have been inside a 58mm 1.8!

No, they didn't ask... and they're both across the pond... shipping back and forth gets expensive...

But i did send them a tutorial, hopefuly it was helpful...
