Greetings!

I wonder if it's possible to mount this lens on Sony Nex? I got it working simply by the use of tape and macro extension tubes but the aperture is at constant f4. I know that it's not the greatest lens but I got it from my father in law and thougt it would be fun to try it out on my Nex. Maybe my solution is the only one? Help or input is appreciated!

There's no commercial adapter I'm aware of, but you can do it with a combination of two.

The Topcon UV Mount Adapter converts UV lenses to the Topcon RE/Exakta mount (with its own aperture ring), and a generic Topcon/Exakta to NEX adapter will fit this to your camera. The problem is that the UV Mount Adapter is very rare and collectable, so even if you can find one it's likely to cost many times more than your lens is worth...

An alternative approach would be to salvage a lens mount from a broken UV-mount camera and make your own adapter. This will be much cheaper, but will require considerable work!

Thanks for the info, very informative! I will see what the outcome of this will be.

I have this lens and I adapted it by removing the mount from a broken Topcon Uni. It's easy to get the required aperture control part off, just remove four screws and it comes off. Then you have to find a way of mounting it on a NEX adapter, I used some NEX extension tubes.

It's a good lens but the RE Topcor 3.5/135 is a lot better so the UV 4/135 languishes in a corner of my cupboard unused.

Interesting, I didn't know the UV was a different mount from the RE. This is helpful information as I've just purchased two Topcor RE lenses and am in the process of purchasing a (used) NEX. Is this the correct adapter for the Topcon RE mount?

Topcon RE has Exakta mount, so that is the adapter you need!

I need to figure out this adapter myself. Thanks for the advice on doing this process.

My best 135 is a Topcor R 135/3.5 preset, I don't have many 135's since it feels a bit long on a crop camera and I'm more of a wide to normal shooter.

Did you have to make your own adapter, Lightshow?

Quite honestly, the RE 135/3.5 can be had pretty cheaply, so got to wonder if it's worth the trouble to adapt the UV.

That may be true but it keeps me off the streets.

The Topcor R is Exakta mount. I was attempting to make a UV to EF adapter, but got sidetracked.

Here's a nice photo series showing how an adapter was made to fit the Topcon UV lens on Nikon F mount.

I wonder if he attached something like an without-optic-M42-Nikon F adapter to complete the adapter.

You are most likely right.

Boy, that's a nice job with the UV mount adapter.

I was interested to compare UV Topcon lenses with similar Nikon lenses. Use Topcon camera aperture ring and M42 camera cover I made a converter. Put it with the UV Topcon lens and M42 to NEX converter I was able to use this lens. The infinity worked OK.

The UV Topcon lenses are sharper. I use extension tube to take macro up to 4:1. All 53mm, 100mm and 135mm Topcon lenses are better than some other lenses.

When I bought the UV lenses for more testing I had some more camera bodies. So I took the aperture rings off the cameras, I made total 15 this converters. I am using three and started to sell them in Ebay. I listed last night and sold two in one day. There are some Topcon lovers there looking for the adapter!

Can you post some pictures from some UV lenses? Thanks.

I tried but failed to post images. Please help.

Also I received some messages since I posted the adapter in Ebay on 11/17. One guy said:
it sure solves problem and frees up some great glass. I was happy as a pig in slop when I found this.
