23 deg F this morning, 24 deg f yesterday morning. I hate to think of what is coming soon. We had 119 inches of snow last winter, A little north of me they had right at 200 inches of snow. I hate winter.

Winter has set in already here -3°C/27°F last night and max 4.5°C/40°F during the day today. It's snowing heavily and already 50mm deep!! I expect all my friends in Canada and Scandinavia will laugh, but for southern UK that's incredible for October! Smile

Here we had rain for the first time after three months of draught. In my memory, I can not remember such long draught in autumn, ever.

Something bad is really happening with the weather in the world. Mad

3°C in the moring, about 10°C at noon.
Fog in the morning, cloudy and some mist at noon.
Not really nice. Sad

Well, we woke up this morning to a beautiful sight - a white world, blue sky and wonderful sunshine! The air in October here is so clear and fresh and creates a wonderful contrasty light. It's the first October snow in southern England since 1974 and in London since 1934! It was about -2°C at 6.00 am but it's melting fast now. There are lots of minor traffic accidents and the local motorway is closed. I'm snowed in at the moment but I'm hoping to get out and take few pics of the beautiful beech trees later.

I think it takes more than a year or two of low rainfall to kill trees Orio. I think they have an inbuilt mechanism to overcome dry spells, just like grass. I remember in 1992 after a series of very dry summers, the trees here were turning brown and losing their leaves by early July, but in general they all survived OK.

SOME do, quite true, but not all! Smile The badly damaged car was actually going the other way and span round on the ice. We are always the last here when the roads are salted and they haven't been done yet, so I'm expecting the same tomorrow morning! Rolling Eyes

We've actually had some rain this year ... which is nice.
It started greening up last year a bit ... it's a nice change after 12-13 years of drought. It gets pretty hot and dry down here.

So far it has been fairly mild this Spring around Sydney.
Much better than a few years ago when most days were 40 deg C ... and spikes of 48 deg C ... that was a shocking Spring/Summer.
