I'm the owner of an A7, I bought the grip because I knew the camera was on the small side but still, even with the grip it's not as ergonomic as I would have hoped. Does anyone else think so? My hands are not that big but I still would prefer something more substantial to hold the camera with, especially when I put one of the heavier lenses on.
It would appear the Fuji XT-1 is of similar size too, is this due to popular demand or the fact that Japanese hands are smaller than Caucasian or whatever?
I think it would handle better with a wider both front and side grip myself. _________________ A whole bunch of stuff. |

i have an rx1, which is also very small i have a Really Right Stuff grip on it which to me makes it perfect. perhaps you can try that vs the sony grip.
i dont think it has anything to do with whose sized hands are what, but has to do with the fact that most people have over the ladt X years been demanding smaller and smaller tech procucts generally. many dont want ro lug around heavy gear, thus the popularity of m4/3. has it gone too far? maybe. the pedulum will start to swing again, or refinements will be made. but there are so many products out there, i,m sure you can find one youre in tune with, bearing in mind nothing is perfect, and my perfect may be different than yours. _________________ Epson RD1 + Elmarit 21/2.8; Summarit 50/1.5; Summarit 75/2.5; Elmar-c 90/4; Sankyo Komura 135/2.8, Hektor 135/4.5; Braun Paxina 29 6x6; Photax Boyer Paris; Holga 120 Pano

I don't see a RRS grip, only plates but I'm not too surprised as it would require specialist machinery to tool a design around Sony's grip.
I feel that an accessory grip could be made that fills out larger hands, like I said, I use some heavy lenses and they're all under 100mm fl. I like the security that comes with a good chunky handhold. _________________ A whole bunch of stuff. |

well i agree that the small camera large lens combination presents ergonomic, as well as philosophic, issues. for me personally, i will not use large lenses on small cams. when i sold and swore off dslrs, i also traded in my great slr glass for equally great but much smaller rf glass, that imo makes better ergonomic amd philosphic fits with the new spate of smaller high quality cameras. _________________ Epson RD1 + Elmarit 21/2.8; Summarit 50/1.5; Summarit 75/2.5; Elmar-c 90/4; Sankyo Komura 135/2.8, Hektor 135/4.5; Braun Paxina 29 6x6; Photax Boyer Paris; Holga 120 Pano

I used to shoot with an EOS 5D and some quite heavy lenses, such as the Tokina AT-X 2.6-2.8/28-70.
Noe that I shoot with a Fuji X-E1 mainly, I am happy that the cam is not as big and as heavy! _________________ Personal forum activity on pause every now and again (due to job obligations)!
