I haven't seen any posting of the 200/2,8 in this thread. Is this lens less common? Not surprisingly it is not so sharp wide open, but usable. It improves all the way (good enough by F4) but best is only between 8 and 11. There is also the 24-45 which I don't have (381122XXX), the fast 35-70/2,5-3,5 97901XXXX and the 130-650/4,5-7,5.

I have many of the C/D lenses which are my favorites together with the old Tamron Soligors with T- serials

Droooool soligor porn.

Hasn't everyone had one at some stage?

This was the first M42 lens I ever had.

It was given to me with a Pentax K1000, along with an M 50mm f2

Probably should have just stopped collecting then and there. Between the two of them they would have served me very well photographically speaking Razz

I remember thinking at the time it was a hunk of ancient junk because of the agricultural screw mount. Shame on me.

Some where in there I became a brand snob and the humble Soligar was just not cool enough. Shame really. Its plenty useable I suppose the H in this one dictates it was mad by Hanimar?

i must force it out of it's branded case for the weekend..

My guess would be Tokina. It's a beautiful lens!

Its a Tokina, the first auto lens series.
This one is a fixed mount version, the same lens was also sold as a Soligor with T4 interchangeable mount.

David Lloyd game me one of those 135s, very well made but optically, utter junk, neither of us could get a decent pic out of it. Might just have been an unlucky bad copy.

PostPosted: Mon Apr 07, 2014 11:21 pm    Post subject: Reply with quote

Copy variation most certainly.

Mine works very well.

Not better than most other 135/3.5's, as I am not equipped to distinguish between them, but it is certainly not difficult to get a good picture out of this one.

I agree. f3.5 on a K10d Sharp enough for the trees Razz

Click!. And an unmodified honest modest crop of questionable focus Razz

PostPosted: Fri Apr 11, 2014 5:13 pm    Post subject: soligor 400 f6.3; 969xxxx = kino? Reply with quote

Just acquired this one, in original box. Classic looking t-mount soligor with the chrome ears. serial 969xx indicates Kino, 1969 according to the formula. 67mm filter, looks exactly like the one on the scanned brochure posted by braddanman. Box shows typical 4 elements/2 groups formula.

EDIT same as ManualFocusG's 400mm - Kino, so nothing new here...

The current spec is actually for tokina made vivitar 400.5.6!

I snagged the pics of the Sun version from an old ebay ad; this page

the serial is 8780187. looks like my Kino version 969xxx but black not chrome f ring and no ears. Kino??

I've had a couple of those, probably both Kino / Kiron - 970**** + 969**** serial numbers. The best information says the first number is the manufacturer - 9 being Kino.

PostPosted: Wed Apr 16, 2014 10:15 pm    Post subject: Reply with quote

So 8xxxx... = Kino too?

The jury is still out on 8****** serial numbers. The best list of numbers is in the Soligor 28mm thread, and I don't think the 8's are designated yet. But, that 400 you've shown looks identical to the two I've had - I still have one - which I believe to be Kino / Kiron.

I agree with the similarity. Suggests at least some 8xxx = kino.

Test pics with mine here:

SOLIGOR 3.5/135 It's not big but i think it's worth mentioning....

I think we can see it on the scanned catalog on page eight of this thread.
It's the one with the 46mm filter threads...

Hi!

Yesterday I bought a Soligor C/D 135mm 2.8 Lens in (hopefully) mint condition. I'm about to use it on Samsung NX. One hardly finds anything about that lens here or elsewhere. It's all about the bigger sister with f2.0, almost nothing about the C/D 2.8. Does someone know a litte bit about it? Age? Manufacturer? Blades? Quality? Thanks a lot!

Can you show a photo? Version F2.5 is made by the SUN: http://allphotolenses.com/lenses/item/c_856.html

It seems yours has serial nr. starting with 2 and as such also made by the SUN. It should be decent lens as most 135mm are.
Sandor has few on display:
