I voted NO, simply to put Sarkhozy's nose out of joint. _________________ Dave

I'm a little bit sorry. Not because I like the agreement or the politicians so much, but because I can see the positive results of the european unification. I live near the dutch border. Many years ago we had to wait sometimes for hours to cross the border. There were duties, taxes, import restrictions. We had to spend much money for changing currencies and for transfering money into another country.
Now we can visit our friends inside europe without all those crap. And this is something I appreciate very much...

I understand your point of view, Michael.
But look at our lives. Before the Euro currency, life was good here. Not a paradise, but good for most people.
After the Euro currency, the cost of life has doubled. In year 2000 one euro was worth almost 2000 Lire. Today, with one Euro you can buy the equivalent of what you used to buy with 1000 Lire in year 2000.
This is a big shame.
The lives of half italians now are gotten very worse, in these few years, the power of the salaries was cut in half.
And all this, because the Euro currency was made to please the big bankers and financial lobbies in their speculations.
The result of Euro is that bankers, oil companies etc. have become enormously rich, and normal people has become poorer and poorer. now many Italians have trouble reaching the 4th week of the month with the low salaries and continously raising bills and prices.
I, too, would dream of an Europe with more freedom. But this Europe is not it.
This is not the Europe of the peoples, this is the Europe of the bankers and of the speculators. _________________ _
