I have had this lens for a while. But never really got to take it out, did some shooting with it, and i thought it was pretty good. Now, today the sun showed up a bit once in a while, so i went for a walk and took some pics with it.
The Panagor has a strange tendency to "underexpose", don't know how else to put it, but most pictures need a bit of +EV (0,33 - 0,75) correction. So that's about everything i did to the following pics. No sharpening or stuff like that. All were shot @f/5.6.

Kiron made. I have the 3.5/200 version but the aperture is stuck at 5.6 so never tried it. _________________ I don't care who designed it, who made it or what country it comes from - I just enjoy using it! |

Nice pictures. The PMC version of this lens is not very common. Panagor lenses (the original ones produced by Kiron) produced quite nice colors. I had the 28mm, 35mm, 135mm, 200mm lenses as well at some point and the build quality was really outstanding. |

Thanks all!
It was on a Sony A300.
It is quite compact for a 135mm, and indeed it feels well built! _________________ My Flickr photostream: http://www.flickr.com/photos/chantalrene/

@Excalibur... that is exactly why i call it strange.... at 0-EV in manual mode pics just turn out a bit too dark.
edit: just checked my camera... metering was set to center, maybe that is why. _________________ My Flickr photostream: http://www.flickr.com/photos/chantalrene/

@Excalibur: TTL metering doesn't guarantee that the exposure is always correct. Meters are easily fooled in certain scenarios, especially when not using an adequate metering mode. Also, there are some scenarios where you would rather use your external light meter for incident metering to obtain the correct exposure values.
@TrueLoveOne: Well realized! Enjoy your new lens now! |
